Davis In the backup and restore utility for Windows 7, I learned how to restore files, but what if you want to delete a file or files from the backup? I think Microsoft means well but it's easily corruptible. I'm using Windows 7 Professional on an HP Elitebook 8740w with an Intel Core i5 CPU and 4GB of RAM, with a 64-bit operating system.

    Thanks. I only wish it had popped up higher in my Google searches for a fix. i can get it into safe mode and full recovery but i would rather try restore. I'm happy that I removed it and fixed all damage caused.
