Make sure Mouse Keys is set to off, and uncheck the "Press the option key 5 times to turn mouse keys off". Definitely a good one to keep in mind. I was working from home, on my mac (logging in to my computer at work) and I somehow managed to turn off the 10-key on my keyboard.
