Apple Macbook Pro Keyboard Illumination Not Working


I immediately thought the illuminator had "blown" and had dollar signs dancing in my head….eek…. Backlight is back and I am happy. I haven't installed anything or changed any settings since yesterday (when F5 and F6 were working fine), so I don't know what could have caused this to happen.

No need for Lab-tick. Absolutely everything worked - the keyboard, the sensors, etc. I've also read that i should go in a dark room or whatever, but this isn't working either. you have to pull up and even small latch that's on the back of where the connection plugs into.

It worked before but isn't responding now. I think it has already been recommended in this thread, but I suggest using a wooden tooth pick to push the cable in place. All of the sudden the keyboard backlight worked! Check This Out Their CS sucks so bad!!

I found this thread and checked the ribbon cable pictured here but I dont have a ribbon cable anywhere in sight. You can also turn off the automatic backlighting feature in the Keyboard preferences. SMC and PRAM resets didn't help. I have tried multiple times to adjust the brightness both on the keyboard using the F5 & F6 keys and in the system prefs pane, with no success.

PS: screenshot from my HUD is attached. it's a teeny, tiny thing right beside the RAM itself.
