Hello, I am having a very similar problem , the esc key all the way across to the eject key stopped working on my mac book pro last night; when pressed Mac Usb Keyboard Not Working Tried it on from the install disk using Terminal, and all was fine, so the hardware was OK (also tried a generic USB keyboard - same).
