Try another user account or computerIf you have another Mac available, try connecting your device to that other computer to see if it works. Spend some of that £1000 on decent components, not curvy aluminium with no disk drive in it. Adding the white extension cable fixed it. it started working 🙂 .. Where I work, we had around 45 brand new iMacs put in about 2 years ago (first batch of the curved-back ones) and at least half of them have had this Very weird indeed! Chances are a quick visit to OS X Settings will fix a non-working Apple keyboard.
Perhaps this solution could have saved my last keyboard from the scrap heap! Thanks for the advice.
