Thank you so much for your article- all I had to do was clean up the charging port because there was an accumulation of dust in there. That only makes sense if it holds a charge. When this occurs, there are several things that could have went wrong. They were so helpful at the apple store and overall a wonderful stress free experience.

Then this pops up and I thought ah what the hell. That's because there is a thermal sensor that shuts off the battery when the temperature rises beyond a certain point. I love Macbooks, but these adaptors are junk, and for the price of a new one, I could have already bought another Macbook. In that case changing the outlet won't help as the adapter is still in off-mode and keeping in the outlet preserves this state.
