Any battery that is providing low voltage or irregular current will result in all sorts of weird behaviour. For the iPad, the only difference in instructions is to click on the iPad's Settings icon (the grey ‘gear' symbol), then click on ‘Bluetooth,' (make sure bluetooth is on, btw).
