The charger socket on my computer is dented. SKV How long do I need to sit on it for - have been at it for 5 minutes but still no luck. The final option for the power supply is its indicator light, which will glow green when supplying power and not charging the battery, and will glow amber when charging the battery.
If this doesn't help then you should take the MacBook to Apple for servicing (or consider having the battery replaced).

The steps are easy (but not intuitive). I did not want to go to the library . My MagSafe had been in storage at 70 degrees, and had been at the house for a few hours, so it was at room temp. my macbook pro is is the exact same situation.
