Audi A6 Radiator Fan Not Working


Since the fans seem to be capable of running at high speed, and both run all the time at low speed, the issue seems to be on the control/regulation side. The fan should 'ramp-up' from 0 to 100% and back to 0% speed. The resistor in the fan is a little metal coil. Therefore, i have a feeling there's an issue with the coolant at that location or the switch itself. If you own a power drill, just drill out a small hole for the wires in the side of the fan shroud, just don't damage the integrity of the shroud, the It was one of those huge "MAX" fuses. If the fan does not operate check the Measuring Value Block(MVB) Group 135, field 2 will show you in (%) the current fan output speed from the ECM. for the radiator fan switch is the circuit closed when hot, or closed when cold.
