think i narrowed it down to a bad connection as it seemed to fail after the air had been directed to your feet (the down arrow!) My bet would be the repair mechanic dropped the ball and connected it up wrong. I had my pillars off the other night and had exactly the same layout as yours in the picture. I can also see some white oxidation beneath the rear window on the side.
I have a lead but have very little experience with using it. The window lead needs to bolt down to the other side of that device to allow positive power into the circuit when the button is switched. Obviously make sure you have some spares in case it pops! An electrician at the shop checked the wiring for the system.
