Arma 2 Voip Not Working
If no device is available, you can choose the detect audio devices option. It does not give the first impression that ArmA has a nice and welcoming community when new players are ignored. This can be achieved by going into control panel in windows (press the windows key, it will be on the right side of the window that pops up) clicking on "Hardware I hope we can find an answer for this, as it breaks immersion when you need to type something out. http://emhsoft.net/arma-2/arma-2-co-op-not-working.php
Sitting around and talking outside of missions I have no problem with chat, but during missions I am not going to type in my commands to people, nor would I be The in-game voip also sounds bad a lot of the time and since it broadcasts across the game in some modes is really annoying, and again, why some servers turn it Edited August 1, 2012 by Apelgrandure
 ZombieSpecialist 144 Survivor Joined: July 12, 2012 Members 144 117 posts Posted August 1, To fix the issue, make sure that the recording device in your steam settings is set to your mic. find more
vBulletin v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2016, vBulletin Solutions, Inc. this option is located under ''levels'' for the recording device option in windows sound options. I've seen that done many a time when people had problems. Sorry but I just don't understand the people who harp on and on about being forced to use TS or Ventrillo by the 'owners' of the server.
If you own Arma 2 and Arma 2:OA on steam, then it will be installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead. Also, my mic works perfectly, I use it for everything, even *gasp* Bad Company 2 (95% of BC2 players don't seem to know that the game has voice coms......). permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]FishNeedles 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago(1 child)@Waraji I have the exact same setup you do (Astro A50's, W7 64, TS3) and also cannot get the mic to work in game. That does not change my opinion that clans maybe should ease up a bit with people who use normal text chat and do not have TS installed.

I fixed it, by following the instructions of the I also think that being so obsessed about TS and therefor ignoring players that use text chat is discouraging of a lot of new players that try/want to be a part It works in everything BUT arma. I've got it to work, so it is possible to use this headset with Dayz.I ended up just following the guide in this thread! :)It turns out my headset worked for
Really strange PC issue REALLY strange boot issue on Acer Aspire 2930 laptop - corrupted BIOS? Didn't you start the thread asking which channel to speak on during the game? http://www.dayzrp.com/t-I-can-t-see-direct-chat-or-hear-anyone-speaking-in-direct-chat Sound controllers have names like "Stereo Mix" and the microphone will be listed under the name "Microphone".SOLUTION 3In Arma 2:OA or while in DayZ, set your microphone up so that it All rights reserved. but i'm not sure what the problem could be try changing ports or updating drivers.
Of course I am not disagreeing that voice is more efficient then text chat, but then to exclude any ArmA player that do not use voice or not even have a weblink
 Apelgrandure 18 Woodland Warrior Joined: July 30, 2012 Members 18 39 posts Posted August 10, 2012 What if you don't
 Stings2pee 106 Survivor Joined: May 15, 2012 Members 106 321 posts Posted August 8, 2012 Really useful guide, Apelgrandure. You will probably not remember me but my IGN was GBlackSky and I used to play alot with the awesome dudes from the =FU= clan.
MustangDelta08-20-2010, 04:18 AMI think if the TS really is a must in the sense that you really need it to play online BIS would have integrated some kind of voice software Find the Device that is your microphone. Assuming you are using Windows Seven, go to your control panel and navigate to the sound menu. navigate here Might be useful to rule some things out.
At least my squad mates couldn't hear me today when I played. Was under the impression then that you could use text chat, but then on a closed team channel, but it is voice only. Depending on a lot of factors; mission type, amount of people, amount of extraneous chat; you may or may not get your chat posts noticed.
Sorry for the false alarm and thanks for helping me.
Note, I'm talking about Standalone here. This is to make sure that windows has in fact registerd with all other programs that it is the default device, sometimes its listed as default but it doesnt work until solved Hey I never ask these but I'm really stumped.. If a person applies to join 'my' unit and they don't have TS my group wouldn't consider having him in our group.

I know my mic works fine because i'm always using it on skype and tf2 i just can't get it to work with Dayz.... We should move our discussions over there. Frankly, joining a large game means that you will most likely not be helping anyone, you'll be stepping into a battlefield in action and you'll be causing a slowdown of the If you dont have the steam version then im sorry but I have no idea of the default location for Arma 2 when installing from a normal installer, please google this
